Dreams Of Tamar is an inspirational novel with strong female characters. It is a story about friendship and unconditional love. We will follow Diedra as she struggles with marriage, motherhood, and friendship on a journey that will teach her about God’s redeeming love and his promise to fulfill her wildest dreams.
“Amen. God is good! Does anyone else have anything they want to share?” asked Rodney. Since no one responded he closed that portion of the meeting. “Thank you so much for sharing tonight John. Next week we will hear from a female perspective. How about you Diedra? Would you like to speak next week?”
“Come on babe, you will be great.” James nudged.
“Uhh… no. I don’t mind giving feedback from the peanut gallery, but I’m not ready to stand in front of the group.”
“I’ll go next,” Cassandra volunteered. “Can I pick any topic I want?”
“As long as it comes from the Bible.” Rodney said as he began to put away the podium. “Who else is hungry? Let’s bless the food and then you ladies go be seated in the dining room and tonight we will serve you.” Rodney said grace, and all the men got up and headed for the kitchen.
“Wow! That was pretty awesome tonight,” said Cassandra as the ladies gathered at the table. “I’m so glad you and Rodney started this group.”
“Thank you. I think God’s going to do some powerful things, and I’m glad to be a part of it.” Kayla rep0lied. “So what are you going to talk about next week, Cassandra?”
“I’m not absolutely sure, but I have a few things tossing around in my head.” She stated, as she eyed the cross shaped cake with the palm tree in the middle of it. The men entered the room one by one. All the other ladies’ husbands set their plates on the table before them and sat down next to them. Brea, who was feeling a little uncomfortable, got up and went into the kitchen.”
James smiled after her, and chuckled as she walked away.
“What are you laughing at? That’s not even funny,” whispered Diedra. “Why do you give her such a hard time?” James just continued grinning as he placed a fork full of potato salad in his mouth, and then gave Diedra a peck on the forehead.
Brea entered the kitchen to find Michael garnishing a baked potato with butter and sour cream. He knew Brea did not like potato salad so he had asked Rodney for a potato to bake for her in the microwave.
“What are you doing in here?” He asked.
“When you didn’t return with a plate for me, I thought I was going to have to get my own.”
“You really underestimate me don’t you?” He asked. “Brea, I am for real, and I believe what we have is special. Give us a chance.”
“We’ll talk.” She said as she walked around the island to see what else he had placed on her plate. A leg, a thigh and a wing, a generous helping of macaroni and cheese, green beans, and a roll, to go with her baked potato. He did pay attention didn’t he? she thought.
“Where’s your plate?” She asked, as she reached for an empty plate off the island.
“You heard what the man said. We are serving the ladies. You just sit right there on that stool and allow me to take care of you. Next week you can reciprocate.”
